A Dream Built On Faith
At the age of fifteen, Darla Stubbs began teaching young children to read. Her passion for teaching only strengthened over time, and at the age of twenty five she had the dream of building the Academia De Libertad Y Paz. It took many years of planning, saving, and praying to put this dream into action. There were countless times when there seemed no answer as to how she would raise the necessary money to build the school, but God always provided a way. One time Darla become discouraged, thinking there was no way to open the school until the next year. However, hearing the news, her Brother Anthony together with all his sons donated $9000 that month. With this money the school floors were poured. On many occasions stories like this occurred, until finally thanks to the help of her husband (Nefi LeBaron), many generous donors, and the local architect (Carlos Mariles), the school was finished being built and it opened in 2016.
What We Strive To Accomplish
Our purpose is to have a high standard of quality education based on the Law of Liberty, moral values and subjects of study based on the truth. Our biggest goal is to interweave the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the learning process and curriculum so that children would grow up with that testimony in their daily lives.
Our Commitment to Service
This whole project is a non-profit organization; we who have put approximately $1,150,000.00 dollars into this project so far, agreed to never receive a dime back. After paying our staff and necessary bills, the extra funds, if any, will go back to the progress in our education. The funds needed to provide a high quality education is huge. Although we have come this far, our necessities are still so much more to be successful and cover our needs. This project has been made possible through the contributions made by those who feel inspired to help out. If you’d like to contribute to this cause, check out Our Projects.
